The Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ) is a large public state university based in the historic city of Zacatecas, with additional campuses in several municipalities of the state. Founded in 1959, it offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering, health sciences, social sciences, humanities, arts, law, economics and natural sciences. The university plays a key role in regional development through research, cultural activities and extension projects that link students with local communities and industries. UAZ provides libraries, laboratories, cultural centers and sports facilities and promotes social responsibility, inclusion and academic mobility.
