Banaras Hindu University (BHU)

Banaras Hindu University is one of India's oldest and largest residential universities, founded by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya in 1916. Located in the holy city of Varanasi on the banks of the Ganges. Offers programs in Sanskrit, Vedic studies, Fine Arts, Music, Medicine (Ayurveda and Modern), Engineering, Law, and Sciences. Includes the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS-BHU) — one of India's top medical colleges. Sprawling 1,300-acre campus with 30,000 students.
