About the university
The University of Cádiz (UCA) is a public university in Andalusia, Spain, with campuses in Cádiz, Puerto Real, Algeciras and Jerez. It continues a long tradition of higher education in the city, including nautical and marine studies. UCA offers degrees, master’s and doctorates in sciences, engineering, health, law, economics, humanities, education and marine sciences, and is part of the Campus of International Excellence Global del Mar and the European University SEA-EU. It has strong research and links with the regional economy and port sector.

Campus life
UCA has four campuses (Cádiz, Puerto Real, Algeciras, Jerez) with libraries, labs and the Área de Deportes facilities. Students use a sports card for gym and activities; high-level athletes can apply for grants. The Oficina del Estudiante and Atención al Alumnado provide accommodation lists and support. The university is part of SEA-EU and the Campus of Excellence Global del Mar. The annual Virtual Employment Fair and UCAEmplea portal connect students with companies; ÍCARO offers placement services for internships and jobs.

Internships: The Vice-Rectorate for Entrepreneurship and Employability runs UCAEmplea (portalempleo.uca.es) for job offers, skills assessment and employability workshops, and the annual Virtual Employment Fair with company stands, webinars and recruitment. External placements are coordinated through practicasexternas.uca.es; the ÍCARO placement service helps students and graduates register as jobseekers and access matched vacancies. Many degrees include curricular placements in regional companies and institutions.
