Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (UJEP) is a public research and educational institution in the Ústí Region of the Czech Republic, officially established on 28 September 1991 and rooted in earlier pedagogical traditions dating back to 1954. It comprises eight faculties offering Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programmes across a wide range of disciplines including arts and design, education, environment, science, social and economic studies, mechanical engineering, health studies, and philosophy. UJEP emphasizes a strong blend of theoretical learning and practical experience, with professional practice, excursions, and applied research embedded in curricula. The university maintains extensive international cooperation through over 300 Erasmus+ agreements and strategic global partnerships, fostering mobility and research exchange.
