About the university
The University of Extremadura (UEx) is the only public university in the autonomous community of Extremadura, Spain. It has four campuses in Badajoz, Cáceres, Mérida and Plasencia and offers 84 undergraduate degrees (including 15 double degrees), 44 master’s programmes and 25 doctoral programmes in education, sciences, engineering, law, business, veterinary science, health and humanities. UEx has strong research in agricultural sciences, food technology and electrical engineering and works closely with regional institutions and employers.

Campus life
UEx has four campuses (Badajoz, Cáceres, Mérida, Plasencia) with libraries, labs and sports facilities. The university does not run its own residences but provides an accommodation guide (SIAA) for Badajoz and Cáceres, including Caja Badajoz residence and Junta de Extremadura residences (e.g. Juan XXIII, Mario Roso de Luna, Diego Muñoz Torrero). The Servicio de Prácticas y Empleo (SEPYE) and portal Ícaro offer job and placement support; the TalentCrush Employment and Entrepreneurship Fair connects students and graduates with regional companies. The Alumni UEx programme links graduates with current students and employability support.

Internships: The Servicio de Prácticas y Empleo (SEPYE, sepye.unex.es) manages placements and employment: job offers, labour orientation and the Ícaro placement portal (portalicaro.es). Career offices operate on the Badajoz and Cáceres campuses. The TalentCrush Employment and Entrepreneurship Fair offers stands, workshops (LinkedIn, interviews, personal branding) and direct recruitment with regional companies and institutions (with SEXPE and Diputación de Cáceres). The Alumni UEx programme supports networking and first-job search. Many degrees include curricular placements.

- Scholarships available: UEx students can apply for Spanish Ministry (MEC) grants and aid from the Junta de Extremadura, including places in regional university residences.
