About the university
China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) is a national public university in Beijing under the Ministry of Education, part of Project 211 and Double First-Class Construction. Founded in 1952, it specializes in law and political science and also offers programs in economics, management, sociology, history, philosophy, literature, journalism, and education. CUPL has two campuses: Xueyuan Lu (25 Xitucheng Road, Haidian) and Changping (27 Fuxue Lu). It comprises 18–19 schools, including Law, Civil Commercial and Economic Law, International Law, Criminal Justice, Political Science and Public Administration, Business, Humanities, Foreign Studies, Sociology, Marxism, China-EU School of Law, and Journalism. It offers 19 undergraduate majors, 47+ master’s and 19+ doctoral programs. QS ranks it highly in Law and Legal Studies. Teaching is in Chinese and English (including for international students). Over 200,000 graduates to date.

Campus life
CUPL has two campuses in Beijing: Xueyuan Lu (25 Xitucheng Road, Haidian — downtown, near transport and shops) and Changping (27 Fuxue Lu — suburban, with metro). Dormitory fees range from about 900 to 10,500 RMB/year (300 RMB deposit, semester payment possible). The School of International Education (sis.cupl.edu.cn) handles international admissions and support. Application: cupl.admissions.cn; undergraduate March–July, postgraduate January 1–31. Average tuition for international students about 26,000 RMB/year. Over 1,000 international students; WeChat is used for official communication.
