About the university
Fudan University, founded in 1905 in Shanghai, was China’s first higher education institution established by a Chinese founder (Ma Xiangbo). It is a comprehensive research university and C9 League member with four campuses: Handan (main, Yangpu), Jiangwan, Fenglin, Zhangjiang. Eleven faculties, 35 schools and departments: humanities, social sciences, science, engineering, medicine, management, law, journalism, economics, international relations. Over 30,000 students; 70 bachelor’s, 224 master’s, 154 doctoral programmes; 50+ English-taught programmes. Strong in business, medicine, life sciences; THE subject top 40 in Business and Medical. Chinese Government and Shanghai Government scholarships; high employment.

Four campuses in Shanghai (Handan main in Yangpu with Guanghua Towers, Jiangwan, Fenglin, Zhangjiang). Dormitories with shared kitchens, laundry, 24h service. - Scholarships available: Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC): full tuition waiver, accommodation or subsidy, medical insurance, monthly stipend (master’s 3,000 RMB, PhD 3,500 RMB). Apply via CSC portal (Agency 10246) and Fudan portal; master’s under 35, PhD under 40. Shanghai Government Scholarship and Confucius Institute scholarships also available.
