About the university
Nankai University was founded in 1919 in Tianjin by Yan Xiu and Zhang Boling. One of China's oldest and most respected comprehensive universities. During the Sino-Japanese War it merged with Peking and Tsinghua in Kunming (National Southwestern Associated University); reopened in Tianjin in 1946 as a national university. Strong in chemistry, economics, mathematics, history, and environmental science. Two main campuses: Balitai (Weijin Road, Nankai District) and Jinnan (Tongyan Road). Offers degree and non-degree programs in Chinese and English; Confucius Institutes and broad international partnerships. Student Employment Guidance Center runs job fairs with hundreds of employers; high graduate placement in finance, IT, education, and government.

Two campuses in Tianjin: Balitai (94 Weijin Road, Nankai District) and Jinnan (38 Tongyan Road, Jinnan District). Dormitories with bedding, AC, TV, bathroom, fridge (most buildings), public kitchen, laundry, 24h hot water; book via CUCAS or university. Office for International Academic Exchanges (ensie.nankai.edu.cn) handles admissions, visas, accommodation. Campus life includes sports meetings, clubs, performing arts, museums; career.nankai.edu.cn and “Smart Employment” (Feishu/WeChat) for jobs and internships. Application platform: nankai.at0086.cn.
