Southeast University

Southeast University was founded in 1902 as Sanjiang Normal College in Nanjing; main campus on a site used for education since the Ming Dynasty. Evolved through names including National Central University and Nanjing Institute of Technology; renamed Southeast University in 1988. Merged with Nanjing Railway Medical College, Nanjing College of Communications, and Nanjing Geological School in 2000. Strong in engineering, computer science, architecture, electronics, and transportation. Four campuses in Nanjing: Sipailou, Dingjiaqiao, Jiulonghu, and joint graduate schools with Monash (Suzhou) and Rennes. College of International Students (cis.seu.edu.cn) runs degree and non-degree programs in Chinese and English.
