About the university
Dalian University of Technology was established in 1949 as Dalian University (College of Engineering); the engineering college became Dalian Institute of Technology in 1950 and was renamed DUT in 1988. National key university under the Ministry of Education; founded with input from scholars such as Wang Ganchang, Wang Daheng, and Qian Lingxi. Main campuses in Dalian (Linggong Road, Development Zone) and Panjin; strengths in civil engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, green technology, naval architecture, mechanics, and software.
