About the university
Renmin University of China (RUC), or People's University of China, is a public research university in Beijing under the Ministry of Education. It is part of Project 211, Project 985, and Double First-Class Construction (Class A). RUC is often called "the banner in Chinese humanities and social sciences" and ranks first in China in these fields. The main campus is at 59 Zhongguancun Street, Haidian District. It has 25 schools, 13 research institutes, and a graduate school, offering 86 undergraduate programs, 34 first-level master's disciplines, 25 first-level doctoral disciplines, and professional degrees. RUC has about 28,200 students and 1,950 faculty. Teaching is in Chinese and English (many programs for international students). It has partnerships with over 230 universities worldwide.

RUC’s main campus is at 59 Zhongguancun Street, Haidian District, Beijing. It has 3 International Students Buildings (~700 rooms) with double (about 4,000 RMB/year) and single (about 5,000 RMB/year) options, 24-hour hot water, and independent bathrooms. The buildings are near the East Gate, close to restaurants and cafes. Living expenses are estimated at 1,500–2,000 RMB/month.
