Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL)

The Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL) is a public research university founded in 1933 in Monterrey. It is the third largest public university in Mexico and the main higher education institution in northeastern Mexico. It has six main campuses in Nuevo León (headquarters in San Nicolás de los Garza, part of the Monterrey metropolitan area), 26 faculties, 29 high schools, and over 406 academic programs in 30 municipalities. It has more than 220,000 students. UANL is strong in health sciences, engineering, law, economics, and administration. It ranks in the top 5 in Mexico for graduate employability (QS) and is a leader in university sports. Teaching is in Spanish.
