Universidad de Guadalajara (UDG)

The University of Guadalajara (UdeG) is a public research university. Its predecessor, the Real Universidad de Guadalajara, was inaugurated in 1792; the modern university was re-established in 1925. UdeG has 15 university centers across Jalisco, a virtual university system, and upper secondary schools. It has about 282,000 students and is one of Mexico’s largest universities. It offers undergraduate and graduate programs in health, exact sciences, engineering, economics, administration, social sciences, humanities, arts, and agriculture. Teaching is mainly in Spanish. The main rectorate is in Guadalajara; the network covers the whole state.
