Ovidius University of Constanța is the main higher education institution on the Romanian Black Sea coast, founded in 1990. Named after the Roman poet Ovid, who was exiled to Tomis (modern-day Constanța). 15 faculties covering Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, Law, Economics, Letters, History and Political Science, Arts, Physical Education, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science, Theology, Naval Sciences, and Psychology. Unique coastal university with maritime programs.
