About the university
Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (UAA) is a public university founded in 1973 in Aguascalientes, Mexico. The main campus is at Boulevard Universidad 940, Ciudad Universitaria. UAA offers high school (bachillerato), 64 bachelor’s degrees, 15 master’s, 9 doctoral programs, and medical specialties across centres in agropecuarian sciences, basic sciences, engineering, health, design and construction, arts and humanities, and business. It is recognized by Mexico’s Secretariat of Public Education and has ABET accreditation for some engineering programs. Teaching is mainly in Spanish. The university offers extensive scholarships and supports professional practices in Mexico and abroad.

Campus life
UAA’s main campus is in Ciudad Universitaria (Boulevard Universidad 940). It has the Unidad Deportiva “Profesor Enrique Olivares Santana,” the Polivalente building (Department of Sports), sports leagues, and Escuelas de Iniciación Deportiva Pollitos (ages 4–15). The university has a library, Museo Nacional de la Muerte, virtual classrooms, and regular events. Admission is via pre-registration online, document submission, and EXANI-II (70% weight) plus high school average (30%). Over 4,600 places offered for the 2025 cycle. Internships: Professional practices are required in many programs; students may do them in Aguascalientes, other Mexican states, or abroad (e.g. USA, Germany, France, often in tech companies). Centres such as Business, Engineering, and Agropecuarian offer a “last semester” option. The Departamento de Apoyo a la Formación Integral handles administration, formalizes agreements with host institutions, and helps with procedures; centres assign Tutores de Prácticas. The program is being updated to reflect current labour and international schemes.

Requirements: minimum average 8.0, regular enrollment, socioeconomic study proving need, and no duplicate support (with exceptions for federal/state/municipal programs). Convocatorias are semestral (August and January), valid for two semesters.
