About the university

Universidad Autónoma de Campeche (UACam) is a public autonomous university founded in 1965 in San Francisco de Campeche, Campeche, Mexico. The main campus is at Avenida Agustín Melgar s/n, Ciudad Universitaria, Colonia Buenavista. UACam offers high school (bachillerato), bachelor’s degrees in health sciences (medicine, nursing, dentistry, nutrition, physiotherapy, gerontology, pharmaceutical chemistry), engineering (mechatronics, civil, computer systems, environmental biochemistry, energy), social sciences (law, accounting, administration and finance, political science, economics), and humanities (literature, history), plus specialties, master’s programs, and an inter-institutional doctorate in human rights. It is recognized by Mexico’s Secretariat of Public Education. Teaching is mainly in Spanish. Admission for 2025–2026 is via admision2025.uacam.mx (online exam for most programs, in-person for health and bachillerato).

Campus life

UACam’s main campus is in San Francisco de Campeche (Avenida Agustín Melgar s/n, Ciudad Universitaria, Buenavista). The Dirección de Actividades Deportivas y Recreativas has operated since 1980 and runs 10 sports; the university is a member of the Consejo Nacional del Deporte de la Educación (since 1989). The Gimnasio Universitario has morning (8:00–15:00) and evening (15:00–21:00) hours. Juegos Deportivos Universitarios involve all schools and faculties.
