About the university
The Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) is a large public state university headquartered in Culiacán, with regional campuses in cities such as Los Mochis, Mazatlán and Guamúchil. Founded in 1873, it offers upper‑secondary, undergraduate and graduate programs in health sciences, engineering, social sciences, humanities, education, agriculture, economics and arts. With more than one hundred thousand students, it is one of the largest universities in Mexico and has significant research output in biology, medicine, engineering and environmental studies.
