Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH)

Michoacán University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH) is one of the oldest universities in the Americas, with origins dating back to 1540, and is located in Morelia, Michoacán. It is a large public research university offering undergraduate and graduate programs in humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, health sciences, agriculture and arts. UMSNH is consistently ranked among the top public universities in Mexico and has a strong research profile in physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science and social studies. The university combines historic colonial buildings with modern laboratories, libraries, museums and sports complexes and plays a central role in the cultural and scientific life of Michoacán.
