Universidad de Sonora (UNISON)

The University of Sonora (UNISON) is a public state university based in Hermosillo with regional campuses in Caborca, Navojoa, Nogales and Santa Ana. Founded in 1942, it offers undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering, natural and health sciences, social sciences, humanities, arts and business and is recognized for its strong research in physics, chemistry, materials science and environmental studies. The university is consistently ranked among the top 25 public institutions in Mexico and plays a key role in the economic and scientific development of northwestern Mexico. Students have access to laboratories, libraries, cultural venues and sports facilities and can participate in research projects and mobility programs in Mexico and abroad.
