About the university
Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro (UAQ) is a public university founded in 1951 in Querétaro, Mexico; its origins go back to 1625 (Jesuit College of San Ignacio). The main campus is at Centro Universitario s/n, Cerro de las Campanas; UAQ has nine campuses in the Querétaro region. It offers high school, 78 undergraduate programs (licenciaturas and engineering), 81 graduate programs, and 15 doctoral programs across 13 faculties (Philosophy, Fine Arts, Informatics, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Law, Accounting and Administration, Languages and Literature, Political and Social Sciences, and others). About 62% of programs have national accreditation; 14 have international recognition. Motto: "Educo en la verdad y en honor." Teaching is mainly in Spanish.

Campus life
UAQ has nine campuses in the Querétaro region; the main one is at Cerro de las Campanas. The Dirección de Actividades Deportivas runs 25 disciplines and over 300 selected students; teams compete in CONDDE and FISU. There are eSports selections (20+ students). A new sports unit is under construction at the Aeropuerto campus; the Estadio Universitario is being upgraded (synthetic turf, lighting). Internships: Professional practices are required in many programs and have curricular impact. Registration periods: January–February (semester 1) and August–September (semester 2). For the letter of presentation, send to [email protected]: company and supervisor details, semester, RFC, CURP, social security number, dates, degree and plan, student name and file. For release: conclusion report with coordinator signature, company, dates, plan, file, name. In some faculties (e.g. Political and Social Sciences) practices start from 8th semester. - Scholarships available: UAQ offers Permanencia Universitaria (for students with limited resources and good grades), exemption from re-enrollment fees, support for students with disabilities, single mothers, and indigenous students, plus internal, external and mixed scholarships. In 2025 the university granted over 23,400 semestral supports (scholarships, discounts and other aid) with an investment of about 62 million MXN, and 163 additional student scholarships.
