About the university
Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP) is a public university in San Luis Potosí city and state. It was established in 1923 and was the first in Mexico to receive constitutional autonomy. Its origins go back to a Jesuit college (1624). UASLP has about five campuses in the state and is organized into 15 faculties, schools, institutes, and academic units. It offers high school, numerous undergraduate programs, and graduate degrees in agronomy, sciences, engineering, medicine, law, economics, communication, psychology, dentistry, nursing, and other fields. Teaching is mainly in Spanish. The university is recognized nationally and participates in international rankings (QS, THE).

Campus life
UASLP has several campuses in San Luis Potosí state. The Departamento de Deportes (Servicios Estudiantiles) runs 25 sports disciplines and the Unidad Deportiva Universitaria (UDU). Facilities include multi-sport areas, volleyball courts, soccer, basketball, softball, gym, and beach volleyball. The university holds the Medio Maratón Universitario and participates in LUBA and national competitions. Student services include scholarships, counselling, and support.
