Universidad de Guanajuato (UG)

The Universidad de Guanajuato (UG) is a public autonomous university. Its origins date to 1732 (Hospice of the Holy Trinity); it became the National College of Guanajuato in 1867 and received its current name and university status in 1945. Autonomy was granted in 1994. UG has campuses and schools in 14 cities in the state of Guanajuato (including Guanajuato city, León, Irapuato, Salamanca). It offers about 215 programmes (90 bachelor’s, 117 postgraduate) from upper secondary to doctorate. There are approximately 47,100 students. The motto is "La Verdad Os Hará Libres." Teaching is in Spanish. UG ranks among the top 10 public universities in Mexico (QS Latin America) and is strong in medicine and health sciences. It has over 300 cooperation agreements (234 international) and a job board linked to OCC Mundial.
