About the university
Universidad Veracruzana is a large public university based in Xalapa with regional campuses in Veracruz-Boca del Río, Orizaba-Córdoba, Poza Rica-Tuxpan and Coatzacoalcos-Minatitlán. Founded in 1944, it offers undergraduate and graduate programs in health sciences, engineering, natural and agricultural sciences, arts, humanities, social sciences, business and education. The university is one of Mexico’s top public institutions and has strong research output in biology, environmental science, medicine, forestry and social studies, often focused on the Gulf of Mexico region and indigenous cultures. Internships: Universidad Veracruzana collaborates with hospitals, schools, environmental agencies, cultural institutions, agricultural and industrial companies and government bodies throughout Veracruz.
